I have enjoyed Tanya Huff’s fantasy and vampire books for years, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to read the Valor series. I am really happy that I made that decision, I really enjoyed the series. The latest book Valor’s Trial is a really fun read. The Gunny Sergeant gets into a situation again and it’s a thrill ride getting out.
By the time that I finished this installment in the Valor Series I got the felling that Torin’s time in the spotlight is done. I might be completely off the mark here… But if I am not, I really hope that Tanya Huff decides to launch another story in this universe. because I would love to see what happens now that certain things have been revealed. (you will have to read the book to find out!)
Description (Penguin): Gunnery Sergeant Torin Kerr is a Confederation Marine’s marine. She’s survived more deadly encounters—and kept more of her officers and enlistees alive—than anyone in the Corps. Unexpectedly pulled from battle, Torin finds herself in an underground POW camp that shouldn’t exist, where her fellow marine prisoners seem to have lost all will to escape. Now, Torin must fight her way not only out of the prison but also past the growing compulsion to sit down and give up—not realizing that her escape could mean the end of the war…

Kindle Note: The only thing that I can complain about is due to a combination of the creation of the Kindle version of Valor’s Trial and my reading style. In VT the point of view occasionally switches between characters, sometimes I miss the switch because I am reading too quickly. I really wish that there was an extra line break between POVs, but if I slowed down a bit this would not be a problem.
